Frank V. Gawronski Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created by the Dunkirk Democratic Committee to honor Frank V. Gawronski, who passed away on February 25, 2019. Frank was a Fredonia State College graduate who served in the U.S. Army. He spent 31 years as a special education teacher at BOCES in Fredonia and held other notable positions in the academic field.

Frank was elected to seven terms as Second Ward Councilman, and one term as Councilman-at-Large. His elected city government service spanned 16 consecutive years. He also served as the chairman of the Dunkirk City Democratic Committee and a member for more than 30 years.
