Local School Districts Benefit from Flapjacks
The board, staff, and volunteers at the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation thank everyone who came out on March 23 to our record-breaking Applebee’s Flapjack Breakfast Fundraiser! We successfully raised over $2,400 to support our Service Learning Mini-Grant Program. Grants awarded from this program support middle and high school teachers in all northern Chautauqua County school districts by encouraging them to promote community service in the classroom.

Local Teachers Invited to Apply for NCCF Service Learning Mini-Grants
Local teachers are eligible to apply for the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation’s (NCCF) Service Learning Mini-Grant Program. These grants are available to middle and high school teachers in northern Chautauqua County for projects that combine meaningful community service with traditional instruction, enriching the learning experience for students and promoting civic responsibility outside the classroom.
Individual grants of up to $500 are available for the Service Learning Mini-Grant Program on a competitive basis.
Grants Combine Classroom Learning and Community Service
Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) announces 15 Service Learning Mini-Grant awards that include artistic, physical fitness, environmental and community-inspired projects.
Sixth-grade students at Fredonia Central School will be a part of the Custom Pens for Active US Military Project. Working with a lathe, drill press, and other tools, students will make wooden pens. These will be shipped, with personal notes, to service men and women from the local community.
