Nonprofits Invited to Submit Letters of Interest for Spring Community Benefit Grants
The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) will accept letters of interest for the Community Benefit Grants Program through March 1, 2022. Please visit nccfoundation.org/grants-programs for full eligibility requirements and guidelines.
The Community Benefit Grants Program considers grant proposals from nonprofit organizations biannually in March and September. In 2021, the NCCF’s Community Benefit Grants Program distributed $236,378 through 41 grants to local organizations. Grant proposals must efficiently and effectively address identified community needs or encourage new opportunities.
Local Economic Development Committee Updates
In recent months the NCCF Local Economic Development committee (LED) has continued to monitor the pulse of economic development efforts in the county. In addition to participating in and providing expertise to Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth (CCPEG) workgroups, LED members continued to educate themselves and the community and advocate for fresh ideas and initiatives to improve the local economy.

The program awards grants biannually to organizations seeking funds to improve and strengthen the northern Chautauqua County region. NCCF's Board of Directors recently approved these grants, totaling $117,287 and benefitting the following 22 local organizations:

SOCKTOBER: Warming the FEET and HEARTS of those in need in our county.
With the arrival of cooler temperatures comes the essential need for warm socks. Socks are the #1 most requested item at homeless shelters and other organizations providing essentials for those in need. The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is collecting NEW socks of all colors and sizes for children and adults to distribute to multiple organizations throughout Chautauqua County.
First Recipients of Terry Frazier Sr. No One Fights Alone Scholarship Named
The family of the late Terry Frazier Sr. of Dunkirk is pleased to announce that Jack Forster of Fredonia and Leionna Thomas of Dunkirk are the first to be awarded the Terry Frazier Sr. No One Fights Alone Scholarship. The scholarship, established in 2020 in memory of Terry Frazier Sr., is available to graduating seniors from Dunkirk and Fredonia High Schools planning to attend college or a trade school whose lives have been impacted by cancer. Special consideration is given to those who have participated in volunteer services related to cancer or are planning a career related to cancer research. The scholarship includes a monetary award as well as care packages for the students throughout their educational careers.
Thank you for a successful Give 716 campaign!
Recently, NCCF was a participant in the inaugural Give 716, an online day of giving hosted by the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres Foundations, to benefit nonprofits throughout Western New York. The day was an incredible success overall, raising $1.1 million for the charities involved. NCCF saw 133 gifts from 121 individual donors, totaling $6,388. Additionally, NCCF was selected as the winner of a $500 grant from the two hosting Foundations.
