The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is participating in #NYGivesDay on #GivingTuesday. This day of giving harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate the generosity in our community.
This year we are once again focusing on our Building Community Fund. This fund is one of many funds that provide the grant money used to support our local nonprofits. This year, we reinvested $137,327 into the community through the spring and fall Community Grants Program supporting over 32 local organizations.
#GivingTuesday falls on November 27. Held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, this day of giving kicks off the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to contribute in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support. It follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday; days we tend to focus on material holiday giving. Diverse groups of individuals, communities, and organizations connect on #GivingTuesday for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving.
We are working diligently to enhance the NCCF Grant Programs to provide more funding in the northern Chautauqua County community where the need is greatest. By increasing the Building Community Fund and combining it with our generous donors’ other community funds, we hope to increase the amount of grant money available in future years.
