Earlier this month, we had the privilege of announcing the Spring 2021 Community Benefit Grants, made possible by your generosity. This year, the Spring Community Benefit Grants totaled $119,091, benefitting 19 organizations. Your contribution to our Community Benefit Fund assures that we can continue to expand the support and programming offered to local organizations. Thank you for continuing to support our mission of enriching our community!
The planning stage for Give Big CHQ 2021 is wrapping up as we are fast approaching June 10th. We set a goal this year for at least 100 participating organizations, and we are thrilled to share that we have exceeded that goal! Watch the Observer and Post Journal for a full list of participating organizations. We also recently revealed to the organizations the details of the "716 Stretch Pool". NCCF is contributing $15,000 to the fund, matched by our friends at Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, for a total of $30,000. Participating groups can qualify for a portion of these bonus dollars by having ten unique online donors between 7:16 am and 7:16 pm on the day of the event. Save the date now and show up to support your favorite organizations! You can find more information about Give Big CHQ on the website, GiveBigCHQ.org. You can also search and use the hashtag #GiveBigCHQ on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Kranky Plate Productions was in our office this month, filming interviews for a video honoring this year's recipients of the George B. Weaver Footprints Award. This year, Kathy and Peter George have been selected to receive the award for their outstanding dedication to the betterment of our community. We will premiere the finished video and present the Georges with the award during our Annual Meeting and Reception on June 14th. After much careful deliberation and consideration of the options, it was decided that the meeting will be held virtually via Zoom video conference, with an in-person reception to follow at The RED House in Cassadaga. You can register for either of these events on our website. Thank you to Kranky Plate Productions for their sponsorship of the award video!
