NCCF Awards Spring Community Grants

The Board of Directors of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation recently approved 15 grants totaling $44,016 through the 2018 Spring Community Grants Program. The Community Grants Program awards grants to nonprofit organizations seeking funds for projects that address northern Chautauqua’s current needs and opportunities. 

NCCF thanks local businesses

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is proud to show support for Corporate Philanthropy Day, February 26. On this day we show our gratitude to the many local businesses for their contributions to our community.

Corporate Philanthropy refers to the charitable contributions and community service activities a company voluntarily undertakes to improve society. We appreciate the businesses that have invested in NCCF and our community through financial contributions, donations of products, in-kind services and technical assistance, employee volunteerism, and other business transactions.

A new fund at the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation will provide scholarships to young women pursuing a degree in one of the STEM fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The objective of this scholarship is to increase the percentage of females working in STEM fields. Currently, only 26 percent of STEM workers are women.

The mission of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) is to enrich the area where we live and work. Since its establishment in 1986, the NCCF has been at the forefront of local philanthropy, strategic grantmaking, and community leadership. By providing the means for our neighbors to give back to the community, NCCF is building for tomorrow, today. With over $23.8 million in assets, the NCCF distributes more than $800,000 each year in grants and scholarships, all to better northern Chautauqua County.

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Dunkirk High School Class of 1989 Memorial Scholarship Fund. Members of the Class of 1989 originally established this scholarship in 2014 as a way to honor deceased classmates.

Silver Creek Irving Heritage Fund Accepting Applications

The Silver Creek Irving Heritage Fund (SCIHF) Committee is accepting grant applications until September 20, 2016. The SCIHF provides funding to new community initiatives, leadership development and charitable programs that address the most pressing issues within the Silver Creek Irving community.  Their slogan is “Remembering Our Past – Securing Our Future.”

Recycle for Earth Day and NCCF’s Environmental Fund

You can now easily contribute your can and bottle refunds to a program that provides environmental education right here in our community.  As a result of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation’s (NCCF) partnership with Get Your Nickel Back Redemption Center, your refunds can be added to the Northern Chautauqua Environmental Fund, where they will be used to fund projects that promote environmental education, particularly as it relates to Lake Erie and its watershed.  When you visit the shop, simply tell the cashier that you would like for your refund to go to the Northern Chautauqua Environmental Fund at the NCCF.
